WSD logo: Mats Rehnman
World Storytelling Day is a global celebration of oral storytelling and this year SAV is excited to be supported by Library at the Dock. We are keen to increase public awareness of oral storytelling.

We will register our event on the WSD international site kindly created by our Dutch counterparts

The theme is Wise Fools. We will be enjoying a selection of stories in the Performance space. The venue has a seating capacity of 120. You can find more details about the Performance space, accessibility and features via this link.

Performance Expression of Interest

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

This call is for eight storytelling performances.
We request that each story is strictly ten minutes or less.

Kindly complete and submit the Expression of Interest for World Storytelling Day form, which you can download from the SAV website,  and return it to devi.palanisamy@gmail.com by Friday, 16th February 2018.

Members, who wish to participate in WSD but are unable to send this information via Internet, can call me (Dee) on 0450091979.

Selection of the storytellers will be based on the different genres of stories and the various styles of storytelling within our membership.

You will need to be a current member of Storytelling Australia Victoria. Kindly ensure that your membership is active.  I have included the link to the membership page for your convenience.

Chosen participants are requested to attend a full dress rehearsal at the Fabled Night event in Newport on Friday, 16th MARCH at 7.30pm. This is to ensure that all the performances are in sync with the theme, supported and also to assist order of the stories. It is also a great way to build our community, and take your story for a test run. If you are unable to attend, please be clear about this on your application so we can make other arrangements.

The World Storytelling Day event is expected to run for 2.5 hours, from 2 – 4.30pm, including a 30-minute break.

It is an wonderful occasion to be part of, both of showing your story and your storytelling skills off, and for connecting with the SAV storytelling community.
